Judge new building work: Gospel Oak

February 2, 2011

The Olympics changes a city and it changes the way it looks hence the task ‘judge new building work’ in the report back section. I was hard-pushed to find any building work where I live apart from this pile of stuff on the platform at Gospel Oak overground station – which must be something to do with the improvements to the London Overground – which make it easier to get to Stratford, the Olympic site etc. It also makes it easier to get to Clapham, New Cross and other places in South London I don’t really go anymore. I obviously think it’s a good thing as this line used to smell and be generally quite sketchy. My friend says that at Caledonian Road and Barnsbury you used to have to climb onto the platform through a hole in a fence.
