Have used cotton buds ever looked so beautiful? A field guide from South London.

February 18, 2011

An anonymously submitted field guide from a street in SE 12. Anon says in their email:

‘It’s not a long road but goes from a little 60s shopping precinct and blocks of council flats past a tiny park to Victorian houses converted into flats evolving into gorgeous double fronted Victorian villas and ending in a T-junction into 30s suburbia.  A good summary of South London”
1. A rather sad little squashed lantern with carefully coloured in Chinese characters
2. The lid from a bottle of Guiness

3. A selection of cotton buds, dropped at regular intervals
4. A seedhead and piece of bark from one the massive London planes that line the road
5. A confused rose that decided February would be a good month to flower.  It must have been pruned off ready for spring.
